Stop Sweating So Much

A lot of people are haunted by the question of how to stop sweating so much. It becomes a social embarrassment for most people. Shaking hands or hugging some to greet the person can become a constant fear in the minds of individuals who suffer from excessive sweating.

Imagine having to greet your boss early in the morning with a hand shake. If your hand is dripping of sweat because you took the stairs today instead of the elevator then this can get you into a sticky situation, literally and figuratively. Excessive sweating may also act as a major turn off for members of the opposite sex.

There are various reasons for different people to experience various levels of perspiration through the day. These include:

* Eating habits

Certain types of food such as onions, garlic, chili, complex carbohydrates, processed fat and calorie rich food contribute to the rise in body temperature. Sweating is the natural way for the body to cool down. The more heat is generated by these food items the more one sweats to cool off. Therefore, substitute such food items with fresh fruits and vegetables. Drink enough water and have fresh fruit juice instead of alcohol and aerated drinks. Reduce the intake of coffee as well.

* Clothes

Natural fabrics such as cotton, linen and wool are very good for keeping the body cool. This is mainly because they allow air to pass through them causing natural cooling. Otherwise, synthetic materials prevent air circulation which creates an insulation effect causing the body to sweat profusely. Therefore, wear light natural fabrics especially during summer and avoid wearing fitted, tight clothes.

* Antiperspirants

There are quite a few antiperspirants in the market. Deodorants that have “dry” marked on them are ones that work the best in such situations. They contain aluminum salts which prevent the body salts from coming out through sweating by clogging the pores. Applying them on a daily basis especially when you go out directly into the sun will help you to stop sweating so much.

One of the most common reasons why people sweat is because of anxiety. Some people are naturally tense for the maximum part of the day. Everything agitates them and makes them nervous. This causes more sweating. Meditation helps to calm such individuals down to a large extent. A calm mind means a calm body which results in reduction of perspiration. If you are able to control your excitement and peacefully face a situation then this will help you to stop sweating so much.
